 In 2003, the Los Llanos air base began to operate as a civilian airport. Situated only four miles south of Albacete itself, one can easily take a taxi to the town center. It’s equally possible to arrive in Madrid and hire a car, Albacete being on the motorway that leads to and from Madrid, an option that will give you the chance to admire the view and take a look at the countryside described in Cervantes’ Don Quijote de la Mancha.

There are high speed train lines and outside the town, many foot paths, which allow for hiking and discovering the region’s most beautiful and unique spots.
