Albacete has an agreeable continental climate involving cold winters and warm summers, but all year round the weather remains dry. There are many restaurants and museums to enjoy, and the city has parks and green zones to relax in on a hot summer day.
The best time to visit Albacete is of course September, because the annual fair is held from the 7th to the 17th, one of the most famous leisure and commercial fairs in Spain and very traditional given that the right to hold this fair dates back to 1710. This fair, although the most renowned, is not the only one; there are lots of different types of fairs all year, some of them entirely religious, others commercial. When these fairs take place, the city lights up, fills with various bright colors and the inhabitants often wear their traditional costumes. Partly due to the frequent festivities, Albacete has a cheerful atmosphere.
