Famous for cheese and wine, Albacete’s a good place for those who enjoy eating, there are delicious stews and meat dishes made with various types of game, including partridge and hare. Naturally one doesn't miss out on the seafood, and the wide variety of fish proposed in different restaurants, the town not being very far from the Mediterranean Sea.
For those in search of healthy eating: the fruit and vegetables are often home grown and always delicious. But, it is recommended to try at least once the traditional Spanish tapas restaurants, which are delightful and where one is spoilt for choice. For those with a sweet tooth, Albacete’s pastries are an absolute must, the recipes having been handed down by the convent's of old.
