The first stop for any visitor in Albacete is the famous sixteenth century Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, a breathtaking combination of architectural styles. Among the other famous religious buildings in Albacete, there are the monastery of La Encarnacion and the Church of la Purisma Concepcion. For the art lovers, other than the churches there are a few deeply fascinating museums, of which the Albacete museum, were the fine arts and archeology sections own extraordinary collections.
The Albacete knife making museum is worth a stop and of course the Provincial Archaeological museum is famous as an unequalled opportunity to learn about the past.
In Albacete it’s important to make time to wander around the town, especially the old part and admire the architecture and enjoy the cool freshness of the green parks like the Abelardo Sanchez park, or the Fiesta del Arbol park where the locals often gather on a warm to day to play Bochas.
A number of natural parks surrounding Albacete are very popular, as the Parque Natural de las lagunas de la Ruidera, or the Calar del Rio Mundo y la Sima Nature Reserve, one of the most beautiful places in the region of Castilla-la -Mancha.
For visitors, a stroll down the river is one of the many pleasures that are on offer in Albacete, for example the rivers Jucar and Gabriel are simply beautiful.
